Jimp was born in Cornwall in 1979. Since graduating from a Master’s Degree in Illustration: Authorial Practice at Falmouth University he is based in both London and Cornwall working as an artist and illustrator. Heavily influenced by skateboard art, poster art and comics, his work spans themes of the sublime to the absurd and approaches drawing in a journalistic manner. Jim generates an extensive and varied body of work including live performance, murals and record covers. His work has been shown internationally including The Saatchi Gallery, New Art Gallery Walsall and The Barbican Centre and is included in various international collections while producing illustration commissions for clients such as Vans & Gavin Turk.
Do Not Look into the Lake highlights the satirical nature to Jimp’s work. How typical of homo sapiens to defy the rules?
